Jewelry for Objects
I am captivated by the life of objects and how they are both part of, and silent witnesses to our lives wearing the marks of time passing as we do. Trained originally as a jeweler, I think that making jewelry for objects could be a way to extend or repurpose the life of an object or even add a new perspective to the objects themselves.
For this project, I have been collecting random discarded objects, from thrift stores or flea markets, and made “jewelry” for them. It has been a very personal and spontaneous interpretation of what the object inspires in me at first glance. Adding, piercing, connecting, and linking different materials I endeavored to make comments about many things. Sometimes funny, sometimes surreal, sometimes serious, this project is my own cabinet of curiosities of thoughts.
